Abstract text Endotoxin was identified as the major risk factor of reclaimed water through acute inhalation exposure, which can cause strong inflammation in the lung. Long term exposure of reclaimed water induced apoptosis in the airway epithelia and pre-fibosis along the bronchi. Chlorination, ozonation and combined UV/Cl were tested for their different abilities of toxicity removing.
